The second Mir Corporate Football Fiesta, powered by Sailor, kicked off in emphatic fashion with Bando Design Ltd scoring 10 past Grey in the opening match at International Turkish Hope School. However, that was not the highest-scoring match on the day as newcomers Gemcon Group beat Vizrt 15-0 in the evening.
Captain of Bando Imranur Rahman netted five goals but it was Gemcon’s Proshanto who stole the limelight by hammering seven past Vizrt. The two giants, Bando and Gemcon, will face off in their group-stage game today.
Comfit Composite Knit Ltd also cruised past Mutual Trust Bank with Tanin and Raju scoring a brace each in their 5-0 win. Sazzadul of IDLC also scored two goals as they beat Mir Group 3-1.
Computer Source were up against Asiatic and they squandered several goalscoring opportunities, eventually settling for a 3-1 scoreline. Emran of Asiatic stunned the crowd with a volley from 20 yards out before Anwar bagged a brace for Source.
