With half-centuries from Mominul Haque and Imrul Kayes on the opening day of the Test series, they look to continue their good form in the longest format of the game Wednesday.
Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat fist in the game and got a good start in the first session of the test match on Tuesday.
In the opening partnership, Tamim Iqbal and Imrul Kayes scored 52.
Imrul scored 51 runs from 130 balls with six boundaries, while Tamim bagged 25 runs from 74 balls with three boundaries in his innings.
For the 10th consecutive time, Mominul added a fifty-plus score in a Test. In his 13-match career, only once he was not able to reach a half-century. Mominul scored 80 in his usual solid self.
Mahmudullah scored 49 runs from 123 balls with six fours before he was dismissed by Wahab Riaz, after a 95-run partnership with Mominul Haque.
Pakistan's Yasir Shah picked Tamim up for only 25 runs off 74 balls while Hafeez claimed the wicket of Imrul Kayes for 51 runs off 130 balls.
Bangladesh's run rate crawled at 1.53 an over in the first hour, only marginally improved to 2 in the second.
Wahab Riaz, Yasir Shah, Mohammad Hafeez and Zulfiqar Babar picked up one wicket each during the first day at Khulna.
Pakistan fielders spilled several chances created by the bowlers working hard on the batting-friendly wicket at the venue.
Bangladesh dominated Pakistan in the three-match one-day series, completing a 3-0 whitewash. It also won the Twenty20 international.
However, Bangladesh is yet to beat Pakistan in a test match after playing eight matches.
