England were all out for 244 runs in 81.3 overs during the second day of their second and final Test against Bangladesh at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Saturday. Mehedi Hasan Miraz starred with the leather, recording his second six-wicket haul in a row, ending up with brilliant bowling figures of 6/82 in 28 overs.
Miraz struck the first blow by sending back overnight batsman Moeen Ali, cleaning him up for 10 while Ben Stokes (nought) was dismissed by Taijul Islam.
Miraz struck again when he trapped Jonny Bairstow (24) in front. The youngster completed his second five-for when he sent back Zafar Ansari (13).
Amid the fall of regular wickets, Joe Root (56) bagged his 23rd fifty but he too perished off the bowling of Taijul, having been adjudged leg-before wicket.
Adil Rashid (44*) and Chris Woakes (46) added 99 valuable runs for the ninth wicket stand. This is England's highest ninth wicket partnership in Asia. Woakes though was dismissed by Miraz four runs short of his third fifty.
Rashid was then joined by Steven Finn (nought) at the crease but the latter was quickly dismissed by Taijul, who picked up three wickets. As a result, Rashid missed out on his second half-century.BRIEF SCOREENGLAND 244 in 81.3 overs (Root 56, Woakes 46, Rashid 44*, Miraz 6/82, Taijul 3/65) lead BANGLADESH 220 in 63.5 overs (Tamim 104, Mominul 66, Moeen 5/57, Woakes 3/30, Stokes 2/13) by 24 runs
