Mominul: I have no problem with off spin

Bangladesh cricket team resumes their training session at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium yesterday ahead of the Australia series. The second practice match will start on Wednesday after a day off. An Australia delegation team will visit Dhaka today prior to the series for inspection. However, Bangladesh top order batsman Mominul Haque was dropped from the playing eleven when Tigers played their last Test against Sri Lanka in Colombo. There was some claim that the left hander was struggling against off-spinners a little bit. But Mominul denies any weakness against spin and said he is working hard to perform better for the team. “I don’t think I have any problem with off spin. I am practicing and working hard with my batting. I got some runs in the first practice match but the innings should have been longer. I am not over thinking about my return to the playing eleven. There is another practice match we have to play. I just want to perform better. The decision is on the team management,” said Mominul to the media after training session yesterday. Mominul, who played 24 Tests, scored half-century in 10 consecutive Tests early in his career. But he lost his place in the playing eleven due to poor performance in early 2017. But Mominul vows to come back and informed bad times is a part of player’s career. There is nothing to lose hope. “It is not surprising to me. A player can’t perform well all the time.  There will be some ups and downs in career soon or later. It happens for every player in the world no matter how great they are. The main challenge is to overcome from such situations. If you can improve from the bad times then you can be a good player. I am trying to overcome these challenges and hopefully I will do it quickly.”
