Bangladesh cricket team captain Mushfiqur Rahim is suffering from viral hepatitis, it was revealed yesterday although Bangladesh Cricket Board physician Debashish Chowdhury informed there is nothing to be worried about.
Mushfiq, who has been suffering from fever, was admitted to Apollo Hospital on Thursday and further medical tests showed that he has contracted viral hepatitis.
“We have received his medical reports and it was found that Mushfiq is suffering from viral hepatitis. He is feeling much better today (yesterday) and the temperature has decreased,” said Debashish.
Debashish went on to say that during this period Mushfiq will feel weak and take some time to recover but the BCB physician was refusing to put any time-frame on a comeback date.
“We will receive more medical reports by the next one or two days and then we will be able to confirm it,” he said.
As a result the 25-year-old Bangladesh skipper will not be able to take part in the third and final round of the Bangladesh Cricket League which starts today.
