Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib al Hasan believes they will bounce back in the second Test in Chittagong after a humiliating start to the month long home series against Sri Lanka. The Tigers looked helpless in the first of the two-match Test series in both bowling and batting department as they went onto lose the game by an innings and 248 runs.
“Every team goes through a bad patch. We didn’t perform in such a bad way in last one and half year. This was a very bad experience for us and we want to forget it, the sooner the better,” said Shakib to the media during his contract signing ceremony with cellular company Banglalink yesterday.
“Hopefully we will bounce back in the second Test at Chittagong. Every member of the team is working hard. We have good memories in Chittagong and hope this will boost us to perform well,” said the former national captain.
Shakib besides picking up three wickets in the first Test scored 55 in the first innings. The left-arm all-rounder also looks forward to perform better in the second Test starting from February 4.
Banglalink signed Shakib as the brand ambassador for a two-year deal amounting to Tk9m annually. “I am honored to become part of Banglalink. I hope we will be able to contribute to the country from our respective sectors,” said Shakib.
