Mahela Jayawardene pushed Sri Lankan lead passed 200 runs with his steady innings against Bangladesh at Mirpur's Sher-e-Bangla Nagar National Stadium.
Lunch break was called at 463 to the scoreboard of Sri Lanka with five wickets remaining at hand. Nothing much had happened in the first session in favour of the Tigers.
Angelo Mathews was edging his way towards a half-century with 46 and Jayawardene was seeking to hit a ton batting at 83.
For Bangladesh, neither spin nor pace was working and the frustration was apparent at one point when seamer Robiul Islam exchanged words with Jayawardene.
No seam movements were observed in the first session. However, Shakib Al Hasan managed to make some use of the morning pitch pulling off some turn.
The Sri Lankan batsmen gave away very little throughout the morning.
Earlier in their opening innings, Bangladesh were bowled out at 232, what was apparently poor selection of shots and umpiring decisions after being put to bat first.
