Injured opening batsman Shamsur Rahman was replaced by Rony Talukder in the Shaheed Jewel XI for today’s Victory Day cricket match against Shaheed Mushtaque XI at Dhanmondi Cricket Stadium. Playing for the Bangladesh team Shamsur twisted his ankle while fielding during the last match of the recently concluded three-match T20 Challenge Series against Bangladesh ‘A’.
Shamsur underwent MRI test which confirmed a ligament injury on his left ankle. The right-handed batsman is being treated by the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s Medical Team.
A second change was made in the Shaheed Jewel XI with pace bowler Mohammad Sharif coming in place of Robiul Islam who will be unavailable for personal reasons.
The traditional 40-over game is scheduled to start at 10am. BCB president Nazmul Hassan will be present as the chief guest.
