Mahmudullah suffers minor injury

Bangladesh all-rounder Mahmudullah suffered a minor injury during training at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Sunday. The right-arm all-rounder strained a muscle in his waist while lifting weights during gym session. According to the initial inspection, the injury proved to be a minor one and should take maximum of two weeks to recover. However, for better understanding of the injury, the cricketer was immediately rushed to the hospital. An MRI report is due on Monday.
“I was lifting weight when I strained my muscle in the waist. Thankfully, the injury was not severe and was limited to muscle only. I am hopeful of recovering soon and getting back to the field,” said Mahmudullah.
The BCB medical team refrained from making any comments, given that they are yet to receive the medical report. The injury is the second to hit the Bangladesh camp, ahead of their two-match Test series at home against Australia, scheduled for August-September. On July 14 this year, ace all-rounder Shakib al Hasan sprained his ankle to pick up a grade one injury. He was subsequently ruled out of action for 10 days.
