Reigning champion Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Ltd consolidated their lead at the top of the table with 12 match points at the end of the 7th round of the Rupahali Sarees Premier Division Chess League at the Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room yesterday.
In the 7th round, Dhaka Mohammedan beat Titas Club 3.5-0.5, with GM Sergey Volkov, GM Ziaur Rahman and GM Niaz Murshed winning their respective games against FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman Emon, Abul Kashem Bhuiyan and Md. Sharif Hossain, while GM Amonatov Farrukh drew with Titas’ IM Abu Sufian Shakil
Bangladesh Navy Chess Team and Leonine Chess Club were in joint second position with 10 points. Bangladesh Navy beat Access Group Chess Club 4-0 points with FM Taibur Rahman, GM Reefat Bin-Sattar, GM Abdulla Al-Rakib and GM Enamul Hossain defeating Uten, Aminul Islam Polash, Saimon Siddiqur Rahman and Mohammed Hafizul Islam Chapal respectively.
Leonine Chess Club beat Pritam-Prism Chess Club, Narayanganj4-0 also, while in the other match of the day, Gopalganj Chess Club drew with Sreejan Chess Club 2-2.
