The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has reaffirmed its leadership across white-ball formats, retaining Liton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz as captains of the T20I and ODI sides respectively.
The decision was finalised at the fourth meeting of the Board of Directors on Sunday, with the board opting for continuity in a bid to build a stable core ahead of upcoming ICC events.
Liton will continue to lead the national T20 side until the ICC T20 World Cup in 2028, with Saif Hassan serving as vice-captain. In the 50-over format, Mehidy will remain at the helm through to the ICC ODI World Cup in South Africa in 2027, while Najmul Hossain Shanto will carry on as deputy.
Beyond leadership matters, the board approved several key policy decisions. A committee will be formed to draft a framework for introducing a pension scheme for former players and match officials, recognising their service to Bangladesh cricket.
The meeting also cleared a new Human Resources policy aimed at strengthening administrative efficiency, transparency and professional standards within the organisation.
In a major step toward digital modernisation, the BCB launched two new platforms — the BCB Player Data App and the BCB Cloud Server App. The Player Data App will offer detailed statistical information on all active domestic cricketers, assisting selectors and team management with data-driven decisions. Meanwhile, the Cloud Server App will provide coaches, analysts and selectors with streamlined access to match footage and performance analytics of domestic players.
The board further decided to reinstate the BCB Annual Awards Programme to honour outstanding performances and contributions within Bangladesh cricket, including in cricket journalism. To encourage professionalism in sports media, the BCB will also introduce a scholarship scheme for sports journalists.
