Rajshahi Warriors receive heroes’ welcome on open-top bus victory parade

Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) champions Rajshahi Warriors were accorded a grand reception as they toured Rajshahi city on an open-top bus on Monday, drawing massive crowds of jubilant cricket fans.

Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mushfiqur Rahim and their teammates paraded through the city from morning until noon, proudly displaying the BPL trophy while supporters lined the streets to celebrate the title triumph.

The Warriors arrived in Rajshahi on Monday morning after clinching the championship. At around 10:30am, the players landed at Hazrat Shah Makhdum (R.) Airport, where an open-top bus was waiting to take them on a victory tour. Carrying the trophy, the players boarded the bus amid loud cheers from fans.

Escorted by police, the procession entered the city with top executives of team owners Nabil Group leading from the front. Hundreds of supporters followed on motorcycles, holding placards reading “Pride of Victory,” “City of Heroes,” and “Victory Has Come, the Cup Has Been Lifted,” while the bus bore the slogan, “The Cup Has Come Home.”

The bus travelled along the Rajshahi–Naogaon highway via Amchattar, Biman Chattar and the RUET Flyover before reaching Rajshahi University. University students welcomed the champions by showering flowers, creating a carnival-like atmosphere.

In emotional scenes, fans threw shirts and T-shirts toward the players, who signed them and returned them as keepsakes. Shanto and Mushfiq repeatedly held the BPL trophy aloft, drawing thunderous applause. Music played as fans chanted and danced, with the players joining in atop the bus.

The victory parade later passed through Talaimari, Saheb Bazar, Rajshahi Collegiate School, Rajshahi College and Laxmipur, before concluding at Nabil Industrial Park in Paba. Along the route, people waved, cheered and took selfies, as the city celebrated its BPL champions in unforgettable fashion.
