City Bank win Platinum Cup Bankers T20

City Bank PLC lifted the 2nd Platinum Cup Bankers T20 Cricket title after defeating Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB) in the final held at the ULAB cricket ground.

Batting first, MTB looked set for a big total with solid contributions from Didar Imran (25), Shawon Khondokar (46), Shariful Shaikot (34) and Ferose Mahmud (32). However, a superb spell from City’s Mokammel Ali (4-24) and Taufiqul Nayan (3-22) halted their progress, restricting MTB to 159 for 8.

City Bank openers Farhan Shovon (45) and Emon Ahmed (52) launched the chase in high gear, laying the platform for a comfortable victory. Their aggressive start made the target look straightforward as City Bank reached the finish line with six wickets in hand and three overs to spare.
