Tigers set Windies 228-run target in bid to level ODI series

Bangladesh were all out for 227 runs with a crucial 4.1 overs of their innings remaining as they look to level the three-match One Day International series against hosts West Indies.

The Windies, who won the first game by five wickets at the same venue last Sunday, asked the Tigers to bat upon winning the toss in the second clash Tuesday.

It seemed the decision was spot on as opener Soumya Sarkar (two) and No 3 batter Liton Das (four) disappointed again with the willow, while captain Mehedi Hasan Miraz was out for one.

Much like the first ODI, experienced campaigner Mahmudullah (62) and opening batsman Tanzid Hasan (46) starred for the visiting side, while all-rounder Tanzim Hasan Sakib, coming in at No 9, struck 45.

Bangladesh’s innings especially was rescued by Mahmudullah and Tanzim as they added 92 for the eighth wicket.

Pacer Jayden Seales led the way for the Windies attack with four scalps while spinner Gudakesh Motie bagged two.
