Bangladesh women's team whitewashed in T20 series against Australia

After being swept in the One Day International series, Bangladesh women's team suffered the same fate against mighty Australia in the three-match Twenty20 International series too when they tasted a thumping 77-run defeat in the third game at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur Thursday.

The hosts were whacked by 10 wickets in the first T20I before falling to a 58-run defeat in the second clash despite a record hat-trick by Fariha Trisna.

While they were able to get past 100 runs at least in those two encounters, they were bowled out for only 78 in 18.1 overs after Australia posted 155/6 in the third tie.

Skipper Alyssa Healy was the top-scorer for the visiting side with a 29-ball 45, an innings studded with six fours and two sixes, while Tahlia McGrath was not out on 43 after hitting two fours and as many sixes from 29 deliveries.

Nahida Akter, who claimed 3/31 from four overs, stifled Australia halfway through the innings before Tahlia paced the innings to help the touring side get past the 150-run mark.

Shorifa Khatun and Rabeya Khan took one wicket apiece.

Trisna went wicket-less in this game.

Tayla Vlaeminck bagged 3/12 from four overs to wreck havoc on the Tigresses, forcing them to lose wickets at regular intervals.

Georgia Wareham complemented her with two wickets conceding just one run.

Skipper Nigar Sultana Joty made the team-high 32 off 31 with five fours.

Opener Dilara Akter scored 12 while Fahima Khatun added 11.

The Aussies earlier beat the women in red and green by 118 runs in the first ODI, six wickets in the second match and eight wickets in the third game.
