Jamuna Television emerged as the champions of the Kool BSJA Media Cup Football defeating The Business Standard 1-0 in Saturday’s final at the artificial turf of Bangladesh Football Federation.
Asaduzzaman Noor Bullet of Jamuna TV, the lone goalscorer of the final, was named the player of the match.
As the champions, Jamuna TV received a glittering trophy and prize money of Tk 30,000.
At the end of the final, Chief Operating Officer of Square Toiletries Limited, Malik Mohammad Saeed, the chief guest handed over the prizes to the winners.
Head of Marketing of Square Toiletries Limited Dr. Jesmin Jaman was present as a special guest.
Bangladesh Sports Journalists Association president ATM Sayeeduzzaman, general secretary Anisur Rahman and tournament committee convener Raihan Al Mughni were also present on the occasion.
Malik Mohammad Saeed congratulated the champions Jamuna TV and said: “Square Group has been with BSJA for 25 years. That's why our relationship is like a family. Square is always on the side of good deeds. Those who work with news have played. A good football game was played. Congratulations to the champion team. I hope that Square and BSJA's correspondence will remain unbroken in the coming days."
Two semi-finals were also held before the final.
Jamuna TV outclassed Dainik Jugantor 5-0 in the first semi while The Business Standard pipped Dhaka Tribune 2-1 in the shootout of the other last four clash.
Earlier, the match between the two teams was tied at 2-2.
Ekattor TV received the fair play award of the tournament.
