Rangpur pummel sorry Sylhet to go top of BPL

Rangpur Riders came up with yet another ruthless performance to crush hapless Sylhet Strikers by 77 runs in the Bangladesh Premier League at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.

In the last match of the Sylhet phase, the Riders, asked to bat first, compiled a respectable 162/7 and thereafter their bowlers did the rest, wrapping up the Strikers for just 85 in 16.5 overs.

The victory put Rangpur at the top of the points table with eight points from six matches.

Khulna Tigers and Chattogram Challengers also have eight points but Rangpur are ahead owing to a superior net run rate, which got a massive boost after the big victory Saturday.

In contrast, Sylhet, after suffering a sixth defeat in seven games, languish at the bottom of the standings.
