No matches in Mirpur during Sri Lanka tour of Bangladesh

Sri Lanka will tour Bangladesh right after the Bangladesh Premier League in March but the country’s home of cricket in Mirpur will not host a single match of the Lankans’ visit featuring two Tests, three one-day internationals and as many Twenty20 internationals.

Bangladesh Cricket Board announced the itinerary of the home series, keeping Mirpur out of the series venues in order to reduce overdependence on the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, and also give some much needed rest to the traditionally slow and low wickets.

Sylhet International Cricket Stadium will host the three T20Is on March 4, 6 and 9 before the three ODIs are held at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on March 13, 15 and 18.

Sylhet will then host the first Test from March 22-26 before the second and final Test takes place in Chittagong from March 30-April 3.
