Led by Mahmudul Hasan Bangladesh Under-23 side left Dhaka yesterday morning for Singapore to participate in the Asian Cricket Council Emerging Team’s Cup.
The 50-over format competition will be played from August 17-26 with the participation of U-23 sides from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka along with the national teams of Afghanistan, Nepal, Singapore and UAE.
Mahmudul Hasan spoke at a press conference before departing and informed that it will be a tough tournament to play. “I am not expecting the tournament to be an easy one as the associate nations will be having their national team and the other U-23 sides will also be full of talented players so we are looking forward to a tough challenge,” said Mahmudul.
Bangladesh, placed in group B along with Sri Lanka U-23, UAE and Singapore, will take on the hosts in the tournament opener on August 17.
