Harun Al Rashid Nizam, father of Bangladesh Cricket Board director and CEO of Beximco Sports Obeid Rashid Nizam, passed away in Dhaka Thursday morning.
After the first janaza Friday at Azad Mosque in Gulshan and the second later on the same day at Baridhara Mosque, he was laid to rest at the Banani graveyard.
Harun Al Rashid Nizam was born on May 5, 1942 in Chittagong.
His father Obaidur Rahman Nizam was a distinguished businessman of the country after whom Chittagong’s famous O R Nizam road is named.
Harun Al Rashid Nizam managed the family business while finishing his education in the United Kingdom.
He established himself as a successful businessman both at home and abroad.
At the time of his passing, the deceased was 80 years old.
He leaves behind his wife, one son, one daughter, five grandchildren, and a large number of admirers.
On behalf of the family, son Obeid Rashid Nizam asked for prayers for the soul of the deceased.
