After losing the first two matches, Bangladesh U-19 cricket team scripted a remarkable comeback in the tri-nation series in the United Arab Emirates, defeating their Afghanistan counterparts by six wickets in Thursday's final to lift the title.
The young Tigers reached their 144-run target in 23.2 overs after skittling the Afghans out for 143, courtesy Mahfuzur Rahman Rabby's six-for.
Batting first, the Afghans were dismissed in 37 overs with Haroon Khan top-scoring with a fighting 62-ball 65.
Left-arm spinner Rabby led the Bangladesh bowling with aplomb, finishing with figure of 6/29 in 10 overs.
In reply, opener Mohammad Rizwan and No 3 batter Jishan Alam chipped in with 43 and 35 respectively as the youngsters in red and green raced to their destination with more than half of their overs remaining.
Bangladesh had earlier lost once each to Sri Lanka and Afghanistan before winning their next two matches to advance to the final.
