Afif, Sohan dropped as Bangladesh announce T20 squad against Ireland

Middle-order batter Afif Hossain and wicketkeeper-batter Nurul Hasan Sohan got excluded as the Bangladesh Cricket Board Wednesday declared 14-member squad for the upcoming three-match Twenty20 international series again visitors Ireland.

Two uncapped players - leg-spinner Rishad Hossain and stumper-batter Jaker Ali Anik – have been included in the the squad for the series against the Irish side. 

Afif has not been among runs for Bangladesh in recent times was first excluded from the squad for the third and final one-day international against Ireland, set to take place in Sylhet Thursday.

The left-handed batter was released by the team management from the ODI squad and allowed to take part in the ongoing Dhaka Premier League for Abahani Limited.

Sohan on the other hand was part of the squad for the England T20Is earlier this month but not given any game opportunity.

Fast bowler Shoriful Islam made a return to the T20I fold.

The 21-year old pacer last played for Bangladesh in November last year against India in the T20 World Cup. 

The three-match T20I series will begin on March 27.

The second and third T20Is are scheduled for March 29 and 31.

All the three games will be played in Chittagong's Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.
