Gulshan, Kalabagan secure wins in Women’s Club Cricket

Gulshan Youth Club and Kalabagan KC won their respective matches in the ongoing Women’s Club Cricket Tournament 2012-13 on Sunday. At Mirpur’s City Club Ground, Gulshan Youth Club defeated Indira Road Cricket Academy by 153 runs. Winning the toss, the Gulshan side batted first and scored 193 runs for the loss of nine wickets. Mahmuda Khan aided Gulshan with 60 runs while Boby Shaha had the best figures with the ball for Indira Road, picking up three wickets. In reply, Indira Road could hardly resist the Gulshan bowling attack. The side was all-out in 16.4 overs with only 39 runs on the board. Mahmuda was adjourned as the player of the match. In the other game of the day, Kalabagan KC slammed their authority on Azad Sporting by winning the encounter by 128 runs at Dhanmondi Cricket Stadium. Batting first, Kalabagan scored 175 for the loss of six wickets in 40 overs. Farzana Akhter scored an unbeaten 60 runs and Ferdosi Tuktuki made 51 not out to aid Kalabagan. Chasing the target, Azad SC could only score 47 runs before losing all wickets.
