Bangladesh U-19 clinch one-day series against hosts Pakistan

Bangladesh U-19 cricket team registered a series victory against their Pakistan counterparts in the one-dayers after the visiting side won the third match by four wickets in Multan Monday.

The young Tigers had won the first game at the same venue by seven wickets before the hosts squared the series in the next match following their 128-run win.

The game was decreased by three overs per side to 42 overs as the home side posted 220 losing nine wickets.

Mohammad Taiyab Arif was the top scorer for the Pakistanis with 87 while Arafat Minhas chipped in with a brisk 26-ball 43.

In reply, the tourists were off to a terrific start thanks to opener Ashikur Rahman Shibly who smashed 72 off 56 deliveries with 11 fours and a couple of sixes.

But from a good position of 61 for the loss of one wicket, the Bangladeshis were reduced to a precarious 113/5.

Captain Azhar Amin (52) and Parvez Rahman Jibon (57) however, rescued Bangladesh with their 85-run association for the sixth wicket.
