Talking point: Tigers’ first ever outing at the SCG

Bangladesh will contest their first ever international game at the historic Sydney Cricket Ground.

The Tigers played in Sydney before in the 2015 World Cup warm-up matches against Ireland and Pakistan at Blacktown International Sportspark, Sydney, but not at the SCG.

Bangladesh also featured in Melbourne in that World Cup when they played against India in the second quarter-final, where they lost by 109 runs.

But surprisingly, at SCG this is the first time.

When asked a question how Bangladesh are preparing themselves to play at the SCG, skipper Shakib al Hasan said, “It's a great venue and a prestigious ground. The whole team will be playing for the first time here, including me. It will be thrilling for all of us as finally we are playing at the SCG, although we should have played here before. Since it will happen this time, it's a great chance for every player to play well and bring positive results for the country.”
