Bangladesh wicket-keeper Nurul Hasan, who had suffered a finger injury in the recent T20 international series against Zimbabwe in Harare, underwent surgery at Raffles Hospital in Singapore Monday.
BCB chief sports physician Dr Debashis Chowdhury, who accompanied Nurul to Singapore, said: “A closed reduction and pinning procedure was performed on Nurul’s left index finger by hand surgeon Dr Anthony Foo at Raffles Hospital this afternoon. Recovery is estimated at three to four weeks.”
The player will return to Dhaka Tuesday.
Nurul was the stand-in captain for Bangladesh against Zimbabwe in the recently concluded T20I series where the Tigers lost 1-2.
He got injured during the second game and was not able to play the third match.
Nurul’s participation in the upcoming Asia Cup T20 is in limbo as it will start in the last week of August.
