Bangladesh veteran wicketkeeper-batter Mushfiqur Rahim has returned to the one-day international fold as Bangladesh Cricket Board named a 16-man squad Saturday for the three-match series against hosts Zimbabwe in August.
Mushfiq was unavailable in the recent series against the West Indies as the right-handed batsman was granted leave for Hajj pilgrimage.
Bangladesh in the tour of the African nation will also play a three-match T20I series but Mushfiq will not be part of that after the BCB Friday decided to rest him and T20I captain Mahmudullah.
The board named young stumper-batter Nurul Hasan Sohan the skipper for the T20I series against Zimbabwe with the intention of finding new leadership in the national dressing room.
Fast bowler Hasan Mahmud is also set to make a return to the national set-up as he has now been named in both the T20I and ODI squads.
Hasan is making a comeback having recovered from injury and had last played an international match around 16 months ago.
The series will start with the three T20Is scheduled to be played on July 30, 31 and August 2 and will be followed by the ODIs on August 5, 7 and 10 respectively.
All the matches will be held at Harare Sports Club.
Bangladesh cricket team are scheduled to leave Dhaka for Harare early Wednesday.
