Bangladesh invited to bat by WI in first T20I

The West Indies captain Nicholas Pooran has won the toss and asked Bangladesh to bat first in the first of three T20Is at Windsor Park Saturday.

The match has been reduced to 16 overs per side, with a five-over powerplay, as play was delayed by wet outfield.

At the toss, Bangladesh skipper Mahmudullah said, “We would've wanted to bowl first as well. We should stick to our process. The West Indies are a good T20I team and we should play well. It's a new wicket. We need to assess the conditions on the go.

“It is a good toss to lose, we will see how we get on with this game. We will try to get a good score and try to build some momentum. We are playing with three spinners, two fast bowlers and a few all-rounders as well.”
