Shakib joins 400 wickets club in T20

Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib al Hasan has reached yet another milestone in his illustrious career as he has taken 400th wicket in his T20 career while playing for Fortune Barishal in the Bangladesh Premier League against Minister Group of Dhaka at Mirpur’s Sher-e-Bangla national cricket stadium on Monday.

Shakib’s 400th wicket came from 353 T20 matches (347 innings) with the best bowling figure of 6/6 which he achieved while playing for Barbados Tridents in the Caribbean Premier League in 2013.

Shakib’s economy is 6.80 in T20 cricket and he has taken five wickets four times and four wickets for ten times in his T20 career.

Shakib is the fifth bowler in the history who has taken 400 or more wickets in T20 cricket. West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo is leading the chart with 555 wickets while South Africa’s Imran Tahir (435), West Indies’ Sunil Narine (425) and Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan (420) are other members of the elite club.

Shakib has also scored 5610 runs in T20 cricket and is only the second player to take 400 or more wickets and more than 5000 runs in T20 cricket. Dwayne Bravo is leading this list with 6672 runs.
