Bangladesh's biggest and most popular T20 tournament, Bangladesh Premier League, will get underway in Mirpur Friday after brushing aside concerns raised by rise in Covid-19 cases in the country.
Six teams will battle for ultimate glory in the tournament's eighth installment - a special edition to mark the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Let's take a look at the teams who have contrasting features, but one common aim - to lift Bangladesh's premier T20 trophy.
Comilla Victorians
Comilla Victorians, under the consistent leadership of owner Nafisa Kamal in the last few years, will be one of the teams to look out for in the BPL.
Off the field, Comilla's impressive leadership group contains renowned coach Mohammad Salahuddin and technical advisor Steve Rhodes, former Bangladesh national team coach.
While on the field, the Victorians will comprise established Bangladesh internationals and a set of electrifying foreign cricketers in former South Africa captain Faf du Plessis, English all-rounder Moeen Ali and the West Indies' Sunil Narine, among others.
Du Plessis might be out of national reckoning but the right-handed batsman brings a lot of experience to the Comilla side, along with some runs under his belt in different T20 competitions.
Spinners Moeen and Narine, comfortable bowling in the beginning or the end of an innings, will be key for the Victorians, not only with the ball but also with the bat.
The all-rounder duo can be used flexibly in the batting order, but Narine can especially be dangerous in the powerplay overs.
Left-arm paceman Mustafizur Rahman will lead the pace bowling attack and in this department, Comilla have a host of options, be it locals Shahidul Islam and Abu Haider Rony or foreigners Oshane Thomas and Karim Janat.
Comilla fans have a lot of expectations on enterprising strokemaker Liton Das and the wicketkeeper-batsman, alongside captain Imrul Kayes, will be looking to provide quick runs at the top.
The squad also has Test captain Mominul Haque, Test opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy and exciting youngsters Parvez Hossain Emon and Mahidul Islam Ankon.
