India 45/4, chasing 145 in second Test against Bangladesh

The decisive Mirpur Test match is finely balanced after the end of day three with visitors India requiring 100 more runs for victory, and Bangladesh needing six wickets, at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium Saturday.

The tourists will resume on 45/4 Sunday after Bangladesh spinners bowled well to restrict the opposition in the final session of day three.

Mehedi Hasan Miraz was the star performer for Bangladesh as he took the wickets of Shubman Gill (seven), Cheteshwar Pujara (six) and Virat Kohli (one).

Skipper Shakib al Hasan earlier made the first breakthrough for the Tigers as he dismissed makeshift captain KL Rahul (two) in the third over of the innings.

Bangladesh had set up a 145-run target after being bundled out for 231 in their second innings.

Nazmul Hossain Shanto (five), Mominul Haque (five), Shakib (13) and Mushfiqur Rahim (nine) all went back to the pavilion in the morning session.

Later Zakir Hasan (51), Miraz (nought) and Nurul Hasan (31) got out in the second session.

Liton was the top-scorer with his 73, featuring seven boundaries.

Bangladesh posted 227 in their first innings and in reply, India took an 87-run lead after managing 314.
