National all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and opening batsman Tamim Iqbal confirmed their spots in the first edition of Caribbean Premier League as they were sold to Barbados and Saint Lucia respectively in the players’ draft held at St. John's, Antigua Wednesday.
Shakib was selected in the Pool A and will have West Indian all-rounder Kieron Pollard as his skipper while Tamim got selected from Pool C to play under the leadership of Darren Sammy.
According to the competition rules Pool A players will be paid with $100,000 each while the Pool C players will be paid with $70,000 apiece.
Dates for the 2013 season of the tournament were confirmed as July 29 to August 26 whereas the 2014 and 2015 editions will take place from July 5 to August 10 and June 21 to July 26 respectively.
