Rangpur down Dhaka in women’s nat’l league

The 6th Women’s National Cricket League returned to the field with Rangpur beating Dhaka by three wickets at the Sylhet Divisional stadium yesterday. The tournament resumed after a month as it was stopped due to political unrest in the country. Dhaka were bundled out for only 100 runs as Rangpur reached the target to claim their fourth win of the competition. Dhaka’s decision to bat first backfired as they lost wickets in regular intervals to get bowled out in the 34th over. Skipper Ayesha Akter top scored with 26 runs. Dolly Rani and Morsheda took three wickets each for Rangpur. Chasing the small target, Rangpur also lost quick wickets, but too many extras bowled by Dhaka helped the eventual winners. Other than 23 extras Rangpur opener Jesy scored 22 runs while middle-order Sanjida Islam was not out on 16. With the win Rangpur moved to second place with nine points.
