“Nadir bhai, all of us will miss you wearing the folded short sleeve shirt. You used to scold me when I used to bowl and my front leg used to get stiff – Mash you are getting stiff. Come back a little bit. And there was no respite if I had stepped in the danger zone,” said Mashrafe.

“All the times spent with you having fun chats – all have turned into memories now. You had asked for a sunglass from me but you left before I could deliver it to you. Stay well on the other size. May Allah bless you,” Mashrafe added.

Mashrafe facetimed with Nadir Shah while the latter was admitted at a city hospital
Nadir officiated in six Tests, 63 ODIs and three T20I and was regarded as one of the finest umpires and popular figures in the cricketing fraternity.

Nadir's namaz-e-janaza was held at Baitul Aman Mosque in Dhanmondi Road No 7 after the jummah prayers.
