The West Indies posted 41 runs losing three wickets in their second innings at stumps on day three, leading Bangladesh by 154 runs in the decisive second and final Test match at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium Saturday.
The home side made early inroads into the Windies line-up in the third and final session as the 23-year old Mehedi Hasan Miraz became the youngest Bangladeshi to take 100 Test wickets, and fourth youngest in history after Daniel Vettori, Harbhajan Singh and Saqlain Mushtaq.
Miraz, playing his 24th match, was also the quickest Bangladeshi to reach the milestone ahead of Taijul Islam (25 matches), Shakib al Hasan (28) and Mohammad Rafique (33).
Taijul Islam and Nayeem Hasan also picked up one wicket each as Nkrumah Bonner (eight) and nightwatchman Jomel Warrican (two) saw out the day’s play without further loss of wickets.
Captain Kraigg Brathwaite (six) fell for his first low-score in the two-Test series, while John Campbell (18) and Shayne Moseley (seven) also departed early to give Bangladesh hope of running through the opposition batting line-up on day four.
Liton Das and Mehedi Hasan Miraz's partnership was followed by Bangladesh losing their last four wickets for 15 runs AFP
Bangladesh earlier went through contrasting fortunes in the first two sessions of the day, losing Mohammad Mithun (15) and Mushfiqur Rahim (54) prior to lunch, before going through the entire afternoon session without the fall of a wicket, courtesy Liton Das and Mehedi Hasan Miraz’s 126-run stand for the seventh wicket.
Mushfiq (22nd Test fifty), Liton (seventh) and Miraz (third) were not able to prolong their innings as Bangladesh were eventually all out for 296, losing their last four wickets for just 15 runs after tea, and giving the Windies a handy 113-run first-innings lead.
Rahkeem Cornwall was the wrecker in chief with his second five-wicket haul, his maiden five-for coming against Afghanistan in Lucknow two years ago.
The gentle giant finished with figure of 5/74 from 32 overs, including eight maidens, and was supported well by Shannon Gabriel and Alzarri Joseph, who shared the other five wickets between themselves.

West Indies 409 & 41/3 in 21 overs (Bonner 8*, Warrican 2*) lead Bangladesh 296 in 96.5 overs (Liton 71, Cornwall 5/74) by 154 runs
