Bangladesh former cricketers will get some cricket action through the Legends Champions Trophy 2021 in Cox’s Bazar this month.
The tournament, an updated version of T10 cricket, will be played in accordance with the 70-ball an innings format from February 18 at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium and its academy field.
The players' draft for the tournament was held in Dhaka Monday.
Six teams - Gemcon Titans, Acme Strikers, Narayanganj Warriors, Expo Raiders, Boishakhi Bengals and J'Adoube Stars - each picked 13 former cricketers from the draft which began by reminiscing Bangladesh’s cricket memories and with the slogan “Once a Tiger, Always a Tiger”.
Six icon players, team owners and representatives and former cricketers were present during the light-hearted draft.
Sledging and banter were exchanged from one table to another, particularly involving former cricketers in the shape of Khaled Mahmud, Habibul Bashar and Naimur Rahman all targeting Acme Strikers icon Khaled Mashud.

Mahmud is icon of Expo Raiders while Bashar and Naimur are icons of Gemcon Titans and Narayanganj Warriors respectively.
Former Bangladesh captains Minhajul Abedin and Akram Khan are icon players of Boishakhi Bengals and J'Adoube Stars respectively.
Gemcon, a well known corporate house of the country for it contribution in sports, finished the draft with star-studded line-up.
Former opening batsman Javed Omar along with Hannan Sarkar, Masudur Rahman Mukul, Shafaq al Zabir, Mohammad Selim, Tareq Aziz, Saiful Islam, Murad Khan, Sonjoy Chakroborty, Harunur Rashid, Masumud Dowla and Fahim Muntasir are set to be in action for Gemcon Titans in the three-day long tournament.
Renowned coach Sarwar Imran has been named mentor of Gemcon Titans.
