All the results from the first phase of Covid-19 testing among players, officials and associate members for the upcoming West Indies series have come out as negative.
The first phase of testing was done Thursday and all the results came out as negative later that night.
The second phase of testing will be done again Saturday among players, supporting staffs of the national team, groundsmen of MSBNCS and even staffs of the team hotel where the national players will reside inside the bio-secure bubble for the series.
“We have taken samples from almost 200 persons in the last two days for Codid-19 testing. It’s a good sign that all the results have turned out as negative. But we have to test again to reconfirm this. Second round of testing will be done (Saturday). According to those results, players and other staffs will enter into the bio-bubble security,” said BCB’s chief physician Dr. Debashish Chowdhury to the media Friday.
Meanwhile, the 24-man preliminary squad for the three ODIs was announced recently.

These players will play two practice matches among themselves on January 14 and January 16 following which the final ODI squad will be announced on January 17.
The Windies team will arrive Sunday for the three ODIs and two-Test series.
The three ODIs will be played on January 20, 22 and 25 respectively.
The first Test will begin on February 3 while the second and final Test will start on February 11.
