Tamim to travel to London Saturday for treatment

Bangladesh ODI captain Tamim Iqbal is likely to travel to England Saturday for treatment.

The left-handed opening batsman has recently complained of severe intestinal pain and that treatment is not being possible locally.

Tamim confirmed to Dhaka Tribune that he will travel to London Saturday if all goes according to plan.

It is understood that the Bangladesh cricketer came to the decision following a video call with physicians based in London Tuesday.

Tamim will be travelling alone.

The Chittagong lad last week had revealed of being troubled by the sickness and despite several checkups, pathological tests and computed tomography (CT) scan in Dhaka, the reason behind the intestinal pain remained unknown.

“I had the attack [severe stomach ache] thrice in the last one month. The pain is so severe that I cannot even stand straight. Doctors have asked me to get admitted to the hospital but that’s also not being possible due to the Covid-19 pandemic. They [doctors] have suggested me a few more tests like endoscopy and colonoscopy,” Tamim had earlier told the media.

Tamim was also considering to travel to Thailand or Singapore but had to finalize of travelling to London given that the other locations have travel restrictions owing to the novel coronavirus pandemic.
