Akbar’s jersey, gloves fetch $2,000 in auction

Bangladesh U-19 team’s World Cup winning captain Akbar Ali’s jersey and gloves have been sold in auction for $2,000 Friday.

Akbar earlier announced that he will put up his jersey and gloves in auction, the ones which he used in the 2020 U-19 World Cup final against India in Potchefstroom, South Africa.

The junior Tigers skipper informed that the money raised from the auction will be spent for the people who have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

The auction was organized by Nibco Sports Management, Brac and e-commerce site Pickaboo.

Mohammad Reazul Islam Jewel, who lives in the USA, bought the gloves and jersey for a combined $2,000.
