Cumilla Warriors clinched a thriller against Chattogram Challengers, winning by two wickets on the last ball of their Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League Twenty20 match in Mirpur’s Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium Tuesday.
Chasing 160, Cumilla were cruising at 134/3 after 16 overs.
However, a string of wickets following Sabbir Rahman’s (18) dismissal brought the game right back on to a knife’s edge.
Chattogram conceded a total of only 10 runs in the 17th, 18th and 19th overs, leaving Cumilla in need of 16 runs off the last over for victory.
A four and a six from Abu Haider and a boundary from Mujeeb Ur Rahman off the last ball closed out the match.

Dawid Malan, the top-scorer for Cumilla with 74 off 51 deliveries, was run out on the second last ball of the match.
Sanjamul Islam initially came out to the crease to face the final ball, but the Cumilla team management decided to send in Mujeeb instead at the last moment.
As a result, Sanjamul was shown as retired out in the official scorecard.
Malan was adjudged man-of-the-match for his captain’s knock.
Earlier, Chattogram posted 159 in 20 overs, riding on a century opening stand from openers Lendl Simmons and Junaid Siddique.
