Following eight failed attempts, the Tigers finally tasted success against India in the shortest format, registering an impressive win by seven wickets in the first match of the three-T20I series in the Indian capital Sunday.
The following morning, the front pages of the Bangladesh newspapers were awash with news on the Tigers’ historic victory.

Some of the leading Indian dailies though only covered the match in their sports pages, and that too only the match report and no reaction stories, a rarity in the event of an international game.
The Hindustan Times focused on the Indian team’s batting effort with the title “Batting paints a hazy picture.”
The Indian Express’ Delhi edition simply went with the heading “Adrenaline Mush” while The Hindu also acknowledged Mushfiq’s unbeaten knock with the title “Mushfiqur Rahim stars in Bangladesh’s historic win over India.”
