Bangladesh Cricket Board has announced Mahmudullah as the new T20I captain and Mominul Haque as the Test skipper for the forthcoming India series.
The changes occurred as regular captain Shakib al Hasan was handed a ban by the International Cricket Council from all forms of cricket for a period of two years, with one year of that period being suspended, after the ace all-rounder accepted three charges of breaching the ICC Anti-Corruption Code Tuesday.
As a result, the BCB declared Mahmudullah as the stand-in captain for the three India T20Is and Mominul was selected as the interim Test skipper for the two Test matches.
All-rounder Saifuddin and opener Tamim Iqbal have also been ruled out due to injury and personal reasons respectively.
