The first of two four-dayers between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka Emerging Teams is heading towards a draw after rain curtailed the third and penultimate day’s play at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna Thursday.
Only 49 overs were possible Thursday as the visiting side, resuming on their overnight first innings score of 101 runs for the loss of four wickets in 38 overs, ended the day on 190 losing six wickets in 87 overs.
The visitor trail the host by 170 runs.
Ashen Bandara was not out on 57 while Chamika Karunaratne was unbeaten on eight.
The home side’s Nayeem Hasan bagged four wickets while Tanvir Islam and Shafiqul Islam took one apiece.

Bangladesh Emerging Team were earlier all out for 360 in 135.4 overs in their first innings, captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto leading the way with 133.
Afif Hossain chipped in with a half-century.
The second and final four-dayer will be held at Sheikh Kamal International Stadium in Cox’s Bazar, starting Tuesday.
Sri Lanka Emerging Team earlier won the three-match one-day series 2-1.
