Injured Mustafizur rested for two weeks

Bangladesh left-arm paceman Mustafizur Rahman has been rested for the next two weeks after incurring a left ankle injury during training Wednesday.

Mustafizur got injured while warming up in training and chief BCB physician Dr Debashish Chowdhury said he will now be rested for two weeks with the World Cup 2019 in England and Wales looming on the horizon.

“He has undergone an x-ray, and it was good. He will be rested for the next few days. We will treat this with caution. He will be rested for two weeks. In the meantime, the tape in his legs will be changed. In any other circumstance, we would have taken less time. But since the World Cup is up ahead, we will take more time. He suffered an ankle injury in his left ankle [Wednesday] while warming up in training,” said Dr Debashish.

The World Cup will get underway on May 30.

Prior to that, the Tigers will contest a tri-nation ODI series in Ireland against the home side and the West Indies.
