Sylhet win Women’s National Cricket League

Sylhet Division lifted their second consecutive Women's National Cricket League title with 14 points after winning all of their seven matches in the 10th edition of the competition.

Sylhet finished ahead of Dhaka Division who had 10 points.

The tournament concluded at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar on Wednesday.

This year’s WNCL reverted to a 50-over event from last year’s Twenty20  format with eight Divisional teams  – Dhaka, Chittagong, Khulna, Rajshahi, Sylhet, Rangpur, Barisal and Mymensingh participating.

Rumana Ahmed of Khulna was adjourned the player of the tournament for her 205 runs and 16 wickets in seven matches.

Rumana shared the spot as the highest wicket taker with Nahida Akhter of Barisal.

With one century and three half centuries, Mursheda Khatun Happy of Sylhet earned the award for the best batter with 414 runs in seven matches.

Mymensingh leg-break bowler, 14-year-old Shorma finished as the most promising player of the tournament as she bagged 15 wickets in seven matches.
