Legends of Rupganj edged past Shinepukur Cricket Club in a run-fest in the Dhaka Premier League at BKSP in Savar Monday.

Batting first, Rupganj posted 357/7, the highest total in this season’s DPL thanks mainly to centuries from opener Mohammad Naim (122) and captain Naeem Islam (108).

Naeem’s innings came from just 98 deliveries and had 11 boundaries and two maximums while Naim’s innings took 108 balls and contained eight fours and half a dozen sixes.

In reply, Shinepukur put up a big fight during the chase as opener Sabbir Hossain scored a century from just 87 deliveries before departing with the score at 164/3 in the 27th over.

Rupganj’s Nabil Samad was the best bowler on a batsman’s day taking 3/51 in his 10 overs, while Naim was adjudged player-of-the-match for his century.
