Comilla Victorians’ player of the final Tamim Iqbal hoped his fellow Bangladesh teammates would take a leaf out of his book and play a significant knock in a BPL final in future.
His whirlwind 61-ball 141 helped his side to victory against Dhaka Dynamites at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka Friday in the grand finale of BPL 6.

The left-handed batsman smashed 10 fours and 11 sixes as the Victorians prevailed by 17 runs to lift their second ever BPL title.
“A Bangladeshi did the job in a big occasion in the BPL. I think this is the best achievement from [Friday’s] innings. Normally an overseas player does the job on the big day on the previous occasions. I hope my innings inspires the others from Bangladesh. They don’t need to wait for others to do it. We can also do it,” said Tamim during the post-match press conference.
