Comilla Victorians captain Steve Smith will by flying back to Australia with an elbow injury a Comilla team source confirmed through a press release.
“Comilla Victorians captain Steve Smith will be flying to Australia at 10:45 pm to receive advanced treatment. A Pronator Teres injury and Ulnar collateral ligament sprain has caused him pain on his right hand and that has rendered him unable to participate in team practice,” the press release stated.
After returning to the country, he will get an MRI done tomorrow to see the severity of the injury and consult with his personal physio to receive further treatment.
If the MRI reports show that he can play again in the BPL, he will return back to take part in the BPL. If the injury is more serious, this could mark the end of his BPL campaign.
Smith, who led the Victorians to one win in the two matches, has so far made 16 and 0 in his two innings against Sylhet Sixers and Rangpur Riders.
The former Australia captain's participation in the BPL made news after the organisers had to change the drafting rules to accommodate him.
