Mashrafe to take part in practice match

Mashrafe will play the first practice match in Fatullah, scheduled for this Friday, and it will be part of his recovery process from a thumb injury. Mashrafe fractured his right thumb during the third T20I against host New Zealand in January this year and is well on track to making a return in the limited-over matches against Sri Lanka later this month. Chief of the national selection panel, Minhajul Abedin Nannu informed that the Bangladesh squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against the Lankans has already been chalked down and is awaiting approval from BCB president Nazmul Hasan. “Mashrafe, along with a few other players who will get included in the ODI team, will play the first practice match with the Emerging Cup team. We will be able to announce the team [Monday] hopefully,” said Minhajul yesterday.
