Bangladesh No 3 batsman Mominul Haque is in brilliant form this month as he struck two centuries in consecutive Test matches (161 against Zimbabwe in second Test and 120 against the West Indies in first Test).
The left-hander had a good chance to score another big one in the first innings against the Windies as he was looking comfortable at the crease during his 46-ball 29-run knock.
Bangladesh were in control in the first innings on day one of the Dhaka Test, despite losing Soumya Sarkar’s wicket.
Debutant Shadman Islam was batting confidently at the other end and formed a 45-run second-wicket partnership with Mominul.

Just when Bangladesh were cruising along nicely, they lost the wicket of Mominul.
It was the second last ball before the scheduled lunch break, and Mominul played a poor shot to lose his wicket.
He tried to pull a delivery wide outside off stump against Kemar Roach only to manage a top edge eventually.
Spinner Roston Chase took an easy catch at mid-on, and the Tigers lost an unnecessary wicket just before the lunch, yet again.
